If you know me well enough, you’d know that I absolutely love SUVs! I don’t usually get crazy about cars that much, but if you want to grab my attention, SUVs are definitely the best way to do just that! My boyfriend will tell you just how easy it is for me to get distracted when an SUV pulls up in front of us. I’d be staring and telling him of how much I would love to own one of those babies. Again, I’m not a car person but SUVs are my thing. Super sexy!

The reason why I brought up SUVs is because of the new and improved XC60, which is just to die for!

Me right now.

What a beauty!

Two days ago (on November 11th), Volvo Car Malaysia unveiled their newly redesigned XC60 which are available in two exciting new variants – XC60 T5 and XC60 T6, through Volvo’s authorized dealer in Sabah; Angkatan Hebat in 1Borneo Hypermall. What is great about the XC60 model is that it is equipped with the highly anticipated Drive-E Powertrain – a modular engine platform which will complement future Volvos built on the Scalable Product Architecture (SPA).

(Interesting Fact) SPA has has been under in-house development at Volvo for the past four years and is the cornerstone of the company’s ongoing USD 11bn transformation plan. SPA was first introduced in Volvo’s XC90 range this year. (source)

I repeat, 11 billion dollars!

There’s a reason why Volvo invested so much in their cars and it has definitely to do with Volvo’s main mission to produce cars that are safer yet luxurious.

“We are offering customers a greater ranger of accessibility to our products by making luxury and critical safety technologies more affordable on one end of the spectrum and showcasing our latest safety innovations and high-end performance on the other,”

– Keith Schäfer, Managing Director of Volvo Cars Malaysia during his speech at the launch in Angkatan Hebat.

Volvo’s main vision to reduce fatality and serious injuries in their cars by the year 2020  encourages them to constantly develop technological innovations that will make cars safer to drive and the new Volvo XC60 is definitely proof of their vision slowly coming to life!
